Airtel Networks Zambia Plc has officially become the Platinum partner for the prestigious Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) 2022 Innovation Programme Cohort.
Airtel Zambia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Apoorva Mehrotra said his company is delighted to be a part of the Youth Innovation Programme for the 3rd year now, noting that the objectives of the programme tied in with Airtel’s goals to help the youth by providing them with the necessary tools to thrive and create solutions that will enhance the country’s digital landscape.
Aside the cash injection, Airtel Zambia has committed to provide mentorship sessions and other business developmental support services to the 60 finalists of the innovation programme.
And on receiving the Cheque, ZICTA Acting Director General, Mrs Phiri said the Authority was gratified to receive Airtel’s sponsorship on the innovation programme for the third year. She also stated that the Authority was delighted to see the organisation’s commitment to continuously be part of the vision to support and build the youth with innovation and entrepreneurial capacity.
Mrs Phiri added that: “When entrepreneurs endeavor to recognize prevailing problems and unearth incredible solutions, they need a supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem to successfully actualise and commercialise their ideas. This means that they need diverse support services such as mentorship opportunities, relevant training programmes, market linkage opportunities and funding support among others to build their innovative ideas into meaningful products and services that positively impact our communities”
