KONKOLA COPPER MINES CONCLUDES WOMEN IN MINING FINANCIAL LITERACY TRAINING PROGRAMME

Konkola Copper Mines Plc has successfully concluded its Women in Mining Financial Literacy Training Programme with a certificate award ceremony, marking the completion of the initiative that began on 15 May 2026.

The programme brought together more than 1,500 women from Konkola Copper Mines and its business partner companies, equipping them with practical financial knowledge and skills to strengthen financial planning, promote informed decision-making, and improve their overall financial well-being.

Speaking on behalf of Konkola Copper Mines Management, Deputy Vice President for Human Capital Management, Ms Pricilla Phiri, said the programme reflected the company’s commitment to empowering women both within its operations and across the wider mining industry.

“Konkola Copper Mines recognises the vital role that women play across our operations and within the mining industry as a whole. Empowerment goes beyond providing employment opportunities — it also involves equipping women with practical knowledge and skills that enable them to make informed financial decisions and build a secure financial future,” Ms Phiri said.

She noted that the initiative had given participants valuable tools to manage their finances more effectively, build financial resilience, and confidently plan for their personal and professional goals.

The Women in Mining Financial Literacy Training Programme forms part of Konkola Copper Mine’s broader efforts to promote inclusion, skills development, and the empowerment of employees and business partners through targeted capacity-building initiatives.

Through programmes such as this, Konkola Copper Mines continues to invest in the growth and development of women, recognising that financially empowered employees are better positioned to contribute meaningfully to their families, workplaces, and communities.
